God did not create animals to be eaten as food. God created fruit and vegetation to be eaten as food. God created animals to be fruitful and multiply, to peacefully inhabit the earth as our neighbors, to be known by name, and to praise God alongside us. We should therefore not treat animals as food to be eaten.
