Yes, absolutely! Jesus compares his love to a mother hen’s love for her baby chicks (Matthew 23:37, Luke 13:34), the same babies we pay to be ground up alive or suffocated the same day they are born when we purchase eggs. And when the mother hen’s egg production declines, we kill her to eat her dead body as an act of obedience to the bloodthirsty desires of our flesh, which are contrary to the spirit of love (Galatians 5:17). The chicken is not only capable of showing love, as all animals are, but according to Jesus, the mother hen shows even greater Christ-like love than God’s people show to the prophets!!
